In most cases, there is no reason to remove an OS user. It is better to simply lock down the account to prevent any future login.
- Select System -> Administration -> Users and Groups
- Select the user from the list
- Select the Properties button
- Select the Account Info tab
- Select the checkbox next to Local password is locked
- Select OK
